At the October 17th meeting, Kenton Cox will speak on the subject of Project Management for School
Bond Issues.

Starting in November, the meeting day will switch to the first Tuesday of the month. It is hoped that this will
be more convenient for the membership.

The January 2003 meeting will be the Annual Business Meeting and election of Board Members.

- This is it! The last meeting before the Summer Hiatus. The next formal
meeting will be September 19th, but on June 20th join your fellow Chapter
Members at Chisholm Trail Park for an evening filled with food and fun.
- Your Chapter has an open Board position, Vice President of Publications

What's new April/May 2002:
- M. S. Mitchell will discuss the Wichita-Valley Center Flood Control Project
at the May Meeting.
- Monte Washburn, President and CEO of Heartland ITS, will discuss Risk Management
in the context of the PMBOK 2000 at the April Meeting.
- Your Chapter has two open Board positions, Vice President of Programs,
and Vice President of Publications and Publicity, (currently occupied by
Nancy Neff, but which will be open soon). Contact any current Board Member for more information.
What's new January/February/March 2002:
- Julie Hatfield, current President of the Chapter, will discuss the recent
updates to the PMI Certification Program, including new PMP examination
sitting requirements and the new Certified Associate in Project Management
(CAPM) certification.
- The February Meeting (Feb 21st) will not be held at the regular location.
Instead, on the same night, the Chapter will have the opportunity to attend
the Engineers Week Banquet and hear Dr. Gene Corley speak about "The
Rise and Fall of the Twin Towers", a discussion of the World Trade
Center. Dr. Corley is heading a group of fourteen engineers charged with
analyzing the design implications, the damage, and the mechanics of the
collapse of the World Trade Center Towers. Tickets are $30 and seating
is very limited! Contact Julie Hatfield as soon as possible if you wish to attend. Click here for more information.

- Joe Koehn of Sedgwick County and R. Keith Engel of SageThink will present an overview of Critical Chain Project Management and its application to Sedgwick County's ERP implementation. Don't miss this opportunity to hear first hand about the actual experiences of making the switch from conventional project management practices to the fast-paced techniques of Critical Chain.
- The Wichita Chapter is planning to start a study group in October to prepare
for the PMP Cetification test, provided there is enough interest. Please
