Making and Project Management

Maria Sabine is a Project Manager in Koch Pipeline's IT Department and is currently working on implementing an EH&S knowledge management system throughout Koch. Maria started her project management career as a Project Engineer for Esso Australia Ltd. modifying offshore oil & gas production facilities. She also worked for Independent Project Analysis where she used statistical modeling techniques to assess project performance and predict key project outcomes. Maria has an Honours degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Adelaide and a MBA and Masters in Engineering Management from Cornell.
How does the way we make decisions affect our Projects? What are the simple rules of thumb that we use and how do they affect the decisions we make? Come and experience some of these simple rules in action - Perhaps you'll think twice the next time you make a decision!
In preparation for this session, consider the following.

Communications: Announce meetings in more publications; develop quarterly newsletters.
Membership: Develop, plan and execute a membership drive.
Programs: Hold joint meetings with area professional organizations; Have more meetings with an engineering focus; Change meeting time/day/frequency (?); Received many program ideas.
Finance: Income from monthly chapter meetings is usually a wash; Income primarily comes from dues.
