Bryan Blunt, Cessna

Bryan Blunt is the Director of Supply Chain Quality at the Cessna Aircraft Company. He joined Cessna in 1998 after several years with Allied Signal, Inc. where he served in positions of increasing responsibility from a Manufacturing Engineer at that company’s Fluid Systems Division to the Manager of Quality Systems for Electronic and Avionics Systems.

In 1999, under Bryan’s guidance, Cessna adopted Six Sigma as a major business improvement methodology. He spearheaded creation of a Six Sigma infrastructure that included trained Senior Managers, Champions and Black Belts. Included within this infrastructure is a Six Sigma Council that oversees the implementation effort, a full-time Six Sigma Process Leader, a Six Sigma Overview training course for the general Cessna population and an intranet page that outlines certification criteria, completed and active projects, relevant documentation and contact persons. In the first year of implementation, Cessna trained 60 Management Champions, certified 21 Black Belts, and saved over $2.6 million.

Bryan has earned an A.A.S. degree in Welding Technology from Maricopa Technical Community College, a B.S. in Manufacturing Technology form Southwestern College, a B.A. in Management from the University of Phoenix and an M.B.A. from Western International University. He is a certified Quality Manager, Quality Auditor and Six Sigma Black Belt and holds a lifetime certificate in Quality Control and Management from the Arizona State Board for Community Colleges.

The Wichita Chapter holds its regular meetings on the third Thursday of each month. There will not be meetings during the months of July or August.
