PMI Certification Program Update

Wichita Chapter of the Project Management Institute

Effective January 1, 2002, there were changes to PMI’s Certification Program. The requirements for sitting for the PMP examination were changed, the PDU Program was updated, and there was an addition of a new certification, the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM). Come and hear Julie Hatfield, PMP President of the Wichita Chapter provide an overview of the changes and additions to the PMI Certification Programs.

Julie Hatfield, PMP is the Manager of the Work Management Systems Group at Koch Pipeline Company, LP. Ms. Hatfield has been with Koch for 4 ½ years. Prior to joining Koch, she worked for 7 years at Electronic Data Systems in the Energy and Manufacturing Business Units. She has been the President of the Wichita PMI Chapter since February 1999. Ms Hatfield has a BBA. in Information Systems from St. Mary’s University of San Antonio TX and a MBA from Our Lady of the Lake University of San Antonio, TX.

The regular chapter meeting will not take place, instead the Chapter will participate in the Engineers Week Banquet on the same night.

Come and hear Dr. Gene Corley speak about “The Rise and Fall of the Trade Towers” at the Beech Activity Center. Dr. Corley is heading a group of fourteen engineers charged with analyzing the design implications, the damage, and the mechanics of the collapse of the World Trade Center Towers.

This special meeting costs $30 per person. This event is more expensive than our regular meetings, however this is a unique opportunity to hear a world class speaker in Wichita. Please contact Julie Hatfield as soon as possible for tickets, as space is very limited. Click here for more info.
