National Engineers Week is February 20-26. The Wichita Council of Engineering Societies is holding its annual banquet on February 24th at the Beech Activity Center, with activities starting at 5:30.
The speaker will be Doug Shane from Scaled Composites, LLC. He was the Test Pilot and Mission Director for Space Ship One.

Susan Estes
Susan Estes is the Vice President of the Kansas State Republican Committee and Chairwoman for District 4. She has been active in a wide variety of political campaigns including Tim Shallenburg's 2002 Gubernatorial race, Sam Brownback's Senate campaign and the latest Wichita Mayoral race. She has also worked with campaigns in other states and organizations, including the national Young Republican Convention. She worked on planning for visits by President Ronald Reagan, President George H. W. Bush, and Vice President Cheney. Her background as a teacher has been very important in planning, executing and motivating people to be successful in the political environment.
Susan's talk will address tactics and strategy, organization, motivation of volunteer workforce and executing to a very rigid schedule. She emphasizes the importance of keeping a campaign "volunteer friendly" by ensuring that each person feels that they are adding specific value to success through their efforts. Another key element to success is time management and keeping focused on the need to complete the project by election day.
Fee: $10 Members - $12 Non members
