As announced at our last meeting, Barry Dougherty, our Vice President of Programs, has moved out of the area. Chapter members interested in this position should contact a board member.
Tuesday, March 15th Chapter Meeting
No dinner for this meeting. We need to be assembled in the parking lot at 5:25 for transport to the restoration hangar. Persons arriving after 5:25 could be excluded from the tour...so be early!
Tour of B-29 Restoration
We will tour the B-29 Restoration underway at the Boeing Wichita plant. The B-29 Superfortress nicknamed "Doc" is being restored to flying status with corporate sponsorship and the efforts of hundreds of volunteers. This aircraft was built at Boeing Wichita's Plant II in 1944.
Members of the restoration crew will guide the tour, provide insights, and answer your questions. We will ask for a $5 donation for the tour, which will be given to the B-29 Restoration Fund.
