PMI's Information systems Specific Interest Group (ISSIG) hosts an annual Professional Development Symposium. The 2006 PDS will be in Cincinnati Ohio on June 3-6. You are invited to come for the weekend workshops where you will get coaching and feedback from mentors and peers or attend the symposium were the latest trends will be explored. The 34 speakers we have assembled are recognizable experts, approachable, and encouraging to our attendees. See the PMI-ISSIG PDS website for more information.

PMI has numerous Specific Interest Groups (SIG), each focusing on a specific industry or project management aspect. Examples of industry-related SIGs include Aerospace and Defense, Design-Procurement-Construction and Financial Services. SIGs that focus on a particular aspect of project management include the Metrics, Program Management Office and Risk Management SIGs. SIGs provide a forum to interact with others who share your project interests. See the PMI website for a complete list of SIGs.

Business Process Analysis Projects: An Overview

Dennis Battles has over 25 years of Information Technology experience with increasing levels of responsibility from software development to management. He is originally from Texas. He transferred to Wichita in 1993.

A Business Process Analysis Project is a powerful tool that can identify, prioritize, and drive technology, business process, and human resource improvements across an organization for the purpose of meeting customer requirements and sustaining organizational growth and development.

In this presentation on Business Process Analysis Projects, the following topics will be covered:

Dennis is employed at Perot Systems Corporation where assigned to the Program Management Office for a major account, and has program management responsibilities for a large subsidiary with operations in Wichita, KS and Torrance, CA.

Dennis previously, held information technology positions in large private-held and public organizations where he gained extensive experience in management, business systems analysis, project management, and system development lifecycle methodology.

He holds a MBA degree from Wichita State University and a BS in Computer Science degree from Stephen F. Austin State University.

Dennis earned his PMP certification in September, 2004 and currently serves as VP Programs in the Wichita PMI chapter.
