Customer Service
Kick it up a notch with a little ITIL!

Doug Hye
Human Resource Information Services Director
Koch Business Solutions

Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) is an integrated set of best-practice recommendations with common definitions and terminology. It is actually divided into a series of eight documents/books, which are known commonly as 'sets'. The sets themselves are sub-divided into what are termed 'disciplines', which cover individual subjects.

The two most commonly used sets are Service Support and Service Delivery. The remaining six are; Planning to Implement Service Management, Software Asset Management, Application Management, Security Management, The Business Perspective and ICT Infrastructure Management.

This presentation will focus on the implementation of Service Support, Service Delivery and how it will improve customer value.

About the speaker:
Doug Hye began his career in Accounting at Sta Krisp, Inc., a local potato chip company owned by the Tidemann family. Working for a family-owned company and making $7,000 a year was great, but following GAAP guidelines and a consistent, predictable and repeatable (CPR) process on a daily, monthly and annual basis didn't appeal to Doug. So, he moved on to Pizza Hut's Management Information Systems where he was able to express himself in creative software development following only the rules of PL/1 and COBOL programming language. Advancing into Project Management during the late 1980's, he began to realize the importance and value of CPR when changes and break-fixes started affecting project timelines. During Pizza Hut's corporate office exodus from Wichita, he was hired by Excel to manage Transportation and Human Resource projects. Different company; same issues. Changes and break-fixes made it very challenging to manage resources and projects. Hired by Koch Business Solutions to manage PeopleSoft projects, he has come full circle, managing projects and processes following a set of guidelines that are consistent, predictable and repeatable.
