Portfolio Management

Portfolio Management has become the latest hot topic in many industries over the last several years. Every company does some form of portfolio management, even though they may not call it that or have it formalized.

We will investigate how Engenio is currently performing portfolio management and what enhancements they are planning to implement in the future. The processes are transferable and should be applicable to many industries. We will also see how Program/ Project Management fits with Portfolio Management and how, in some instances, it is hard to tell the difference.

Dennis Wright has a BSEE and his initial career was in systems engineering for computer systems at NCR, Boeing and Lockheed Martin. Dennis has been a Program/ Project Manager for more than 15 years in the military, telecommunications and high tech industries. His latest position is leading the Portfolio Management Office at Engenio Storage Group (ESG), a division of LSI Corporation.

ESG designs and manufactures computer storage systems for the OEM market. This includes disk controllers, controller firmware, host system software, and enclosures. ESG has yearly revenue around $750M and supports several major OEM customers. The OEMs purchase ESG systems, integrate them with their systems and sell them under their brand name.

Fee:           $10.75 for a meal. No charge to attend without ordering a meal.
