Intrust Arena Project Update
Ron Holt, Sedgwick County and Larry L. Pecenka, Spirit AeroSystems
Co-Project Managers for the Intrust Arena
The Intrust Arena Co-Project Managers will update us on the status of the Sedgwick County Arena project. This will include an overview of the project progress, and a discussion of the day-to-day project management activities.
Ron Holt served in leadership roles at Westar Energy (formerly KG&E, The Electric Company) for more than thirty years (1970-2001) – including those of director, community affairs; executive director, south field operations; chairman of the board and president. He began employment with Sedgwick County in 2002 and is currently an Assistant County Manager managing three divisions (Culture, Entertainment & Recreation, Public Safety, and Community Development). Ron has held volunteer leadership roles in numerous civic/community organizations. He believes “volunteerism is the rent we pay for living.”
Larry L. Pecenka is a Construction Manager at Spirit AeroSystems overseeing and coordinating with outside contractors in all types of projects and disciplines of construction and project management. As a Boeing employee he was on loan to Exploration Place and spend three years as Construction Manager/Owner Representative. After returning to Boeing and assuming his previous duties, he also worked part time as Construction Manager with the Wichita Area Girl Scouts. Mr. Pecenka worked 19 years with general contractors in Kansas and Texas, 14 years with Boeing and the last three years with Spirit. He has build commercial projects in Kansas, Alabama, Texas, Florida and Virginia. He has a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction from Kansas State University.
